The Waukesha County Vanguard Center (WCVC) is one of seven initial locations in the United States chosen to begin the National Children's Study. Situated in southeast Wisconsin, just west of Milwaukee, Waukesha County includes suburban and urban communities with expanding residential, commercial, and industrial areas, as well as rural/agricultural areas, recreational lakes, wetlands, and woodlands.
The Wisconsin Study Center team is excited to have the opportunity to manage the day-to-day operations for the WCVC, including data collection and community outreach and engagement activities. Our goal is that more than 1,200 children and their families will participate in this important Study of children's health, growth, and development in Waukesha.
Established in 2005, the Wisconsin Study Center combines the expertise and leadership of research organizations and community partners in the region, including the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Medical College of Wisconsin, the National Opinion Research Center, the Children's Service Society of Wisconsin, and other agencies that are working together to conduct the National Children's Study in Waukesha County.
