Parish Health Program Coordinator, Holy Cross Ministries
Sister Jacinta was born in Ventura, California, to Mexican immigrant parents and has five siblings. In 1947, after high school, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Notre Dame, Indiana, and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary of the Wasatch College. She earned her M.A.T. from Stanford University. She’s been a teacher for 25 years in elementary and secondary schools in California. She has worked and done ministry work in California, Utah, Mexico, and Texas. Her most recent work has been at the Parish Health Program with Holy Cross Ministries. Sister Jacinta will be retiring at the end of July 2009.
