Following are some of the 2009 Events in Duplin County in which the NCS had/will have a presence:
- December 12, 2009 – Estefany Diaz led a team of NCS staff to get the word out about the Study at the highly attended Our Lady of Guadeloupe at Maria Reina de la Americas.
- November 21, 2009 – NCS’ers enjoyed the holiday decorations while providing Study information to the audience at the Wallace Christmas at Twilight.
- November 7, 2009 – Estefany Diaz tasted stews and informed fellow samplers at the Duplin County Stew Fest of the NCS.
- November 7, 2009 – a team of NCS staff paid tribute to veterans and kept busy handing out Study information to the large crowd at the Warsaw Veteran’s Celebration.
- October – November, 2009 – NCS community liaisons attended nearly every elementary school fall festival, handing out goodies and informing parents of the Study.
- October 31, 2009 – NCS community liaisons distributed Study information to folks attending the Rose Hill Fall Festival.
- October 30, 2009 – Merissa Gremminger presented the NCS to Duplin County principals at the Country Squire.
- October 17, 2009 – the NCS team went in whole hog while attending the Duplin County Hogs n’ Hens cook-off, providing Study materials to nearly every attendee.
- October 10, 2009 – Pam Taber participated in the Faison Market Day.
- October 3, 2009 – the NCS cosponsored the Festival Latino de Duplin with El Centro Latino de Duplin. Activities included a race, regional foods, ethnic dances, music and games for children, and health screenings by area medical providers.
- October 3, 2009 – Estefany Diaz coordinated the soccer tournament at the Festival Latino.
- October 3, 2009 – a team of NCS’ers pitched in and helped clean up litter in Kenansville for the North Carolina Big Sweep event.
- September 26, 2009 – the NCS Team had a booth at the 2009 Muscadine Festival.
- September 26, 2009 – NCS Community Liaisons participated in the highly attended Duplin County annual Muscadine Festival.
- September 20, 2009 – NCS team provided information to folks attending the car seat installation clinic sponsored by the Duplin County Partnership for Children.
- June 18, 2009 – Nancy Dole presented the Study to the Duplin Rotary.
- May 29, 2009 – Merissa Gremminger led the opening ceremony for the B.F. Grady Preschool graduation.
- May 23, 2009 – Nancy Dole presented the Study to the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
- April 25, 2009 – NCS staff participated in the Partnership for Children State of the Child Breakfast.
- April 7, 2009 – Nancy Dole presented the Study to the Wallace Rotary.
