​Placenta sample collection for formative research begins in Duplin County ​September 2011
First 18 and 24 month visits with NCS babies begin Fall 2011
Immunization data for children in NCS begins to be collected from the North Carolina Immunization Registry and medical charts June 2011
All immunization data are collected for mothers in NCS April 2011
Research begins in Duplin to examine the North Carolina Immunization Registry as part of NCS February 2011
100 Duplin babies born into NCS November 2010
Study expands from 7 to 37 sites across the country Fall 2010
First NCS baby turns 1 year old July 2010
First 6 month visit with babies April 2010
Celebrate 1 year in the field January 2010
Begin information tables at Duplin County Health Department, WIC offices and DSS Winter 2009
Finish contacting almost 11,000 households in Duplin County to invite them to be in the Study (follow-up to the households will be ongoing) September 2009
First child born into the National Children's Study from Duplin County July/August 2009
First home visit with a pregnant woman in the first trimester April 2009
First woman consents to take part in the Study March 2009
Study starts in Duplin County and first households visited to invite them to participate in the Study January 2009
Study staff hired and trained to start recruiting Study participants December 2008
Study office established in Kenansville, NC December 2008
