The Orange County Vanguard Center (OCVC) is supported by the expert community knowledge of our Community Advisory Board (CAB). The goal of the CAB is to involve local communities in the National Children’s Study and to ensure that the community’s perspectives, interests, and needs are respected and represented during the planning and implementation of the Study.
In Orange County, CAB members, many of whom represent neighborhoods selected to participate in the Study, community-based organizations in Orange County, and key partner organizations, provide the OCVC with invaluable knowledge about the people who live in participating neighborhoods. They also provide suggestions and ideas that will help to make the National Children’s Study a success.
CAB members help spread the word about the National Children’s Study throughout Orange County. They are Study advocates, increasing awareness about, and establishing a presence for the Study in their communities. Our CAB Members help ensure the continued success of the OCVC and the National Children’s Study.
