 Welcome to the Harris County Texas Study Location


The Harris County Texas Study location is part of the Harris County Hospitals and Universities National Children's Study (HC-HUNCS) Study Center, one of 40 Study Centers participating in the Vanguard Recruitment Pilot. The goals of the recruitment pilot are to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and cost of three alternative strategies for recruitment, retention, and operations of the Study.

Organization

Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) leads the National Children’s Study for the Harris County Texas Study location. The Harris County Hospitals and Universities National Children’s Study (HC-HUNCS) Study Center is housed in the Epidemiology Center, Department of Pediatrics at BCM. The Study Center is supported by a multidisciplinary team of investigators from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston School Of Medicine and School of Public Health, the University of Texas at Austin, and Battelle Memorial Institute. The team is made up of epidemiologists, obstetricians, pediatricians, public health researchers, statisticians, and data collection experts who have an interest in improving the health of families and their children.
